Impossible Kid - Aesop Rock

Just a classic, off-the-beaten-path rap album. Probably some of my favorite lyrics not just because they're clever, or even because Aes paints great anecdotal pictures, but because he has the intelligence and confidence to speak in such figurative language. I always say listening to Aes is like solving a good puzzle, you just keep coming back and finding more and more to learn and love about it and this album is no exception.

Kirby, a light-hearted song about his cat, is a great introduction to Aes (I've managed to get a few people hooked with this one) while Rings or Blood Sandwhich cut a bit deeper. You'll probably find something you like on here or your money back.

LYSFLAtH - Godspeed! Black Emperor

Wow! Talk about an album!

First of all, it does all the things a good album should do which is tell a full and complete story. But, more importantly, it does this entirely in the Post-Rock genre which notably features little to no lyrics.

YES! They tell a whole and complete story with less unique words than I'm writing now about the album itself. Just the music, the themes, and the tone. True masterpiece.

Tales from Cazilor - Naethan Apollo

What a great display of creativity by pulling in the worldbuilding of a D&D campaign with characters, places, backstories all into a gen-z indie-pop wet dream with interludes to spare.

Summer Night in Domita still gives me goosebumps like WOW. Most people struggle to tell their backstories in character at the table let alone compose a catchy song and record it! Night Watch will never not feel exactly what it's like to play D&D with a good friend and the riff is so scrumptious.
